An HTML to WordPress Template Conversion with WooCommerce. Ashridge Delicious sell French Delicatessen food at local Hertfordshire markets as well as cater for any event and have a signature cooking method called ‘Giant Pan’.
They already had an existing website, which can be seen below and was built in 2012, but were frustrated by intermittent enquiries getting to them and small annoyances with it, such as a drop down menu that didn’t work correctly. The also realised the importance of having an effective website for the future of their company and wished to start selling their products online.

A new website on WordPress
As they already had a domain name with a live website the first step was to get their domain name transferred into a registrar under their control but to keep the existing name servers so their current web presence was still available. Once the new website was ready, I could point the domain name to my web hosting.
A WordPress conversion of an HTML template was used which involved producing a custom nav walker for the drop down mega menus in the main navigation, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) was used for custom image galleries and their markup and a couple of custom widgets were created for the sidebar.
Images play a great part in selling the products, the client wanted to give people an idea of the quality of their products and the variety of events they catered for. They have a large bank of images available so these were put to use with ACF slider galleries on each page header.
WooCommerce was added to the theme for the online store area, currently only taking orders on a cash on delivery basis as no merchant account was available. ordering has been restricted to postcodes within a 50 mile radius.
The client was very happy with the new version and wanted to go live with it before it was finished.
