SEO is a bit voodoo and much like a black art but here are a few well documented basics;

• Use meta keywords and description tags, but dont over do it
• Make use of title tags, especially in navigation and alt tags for images
• Use strong and em tags in content
• Have a sitemap and submit it to the Search Engines; Google, live.com, Ask, Yahoo, DMOZ.org. Resubmit your sitemap whenever you change your site
• Give search engine bots plently of fresh content and inbound/outbound/internal links to suck up

Top 10 in 2 months

Sounds crazy, but it can be done. Do the stuff above, that's a given. Make sure the domain name you get is focused on a particular aspect of your trade, be quite specific. Then focus the rest of your website on that aspect. Add your content, keeping in mind the focus adding keywords within your text, then search for similar on Google, seek out sites where you can add a link to yours, a link that would be of value to that website page which has the same focus. Once you have the top 10, you can then start branching out into other areas.
